NAME DAY OF OUR PARISH
On August 26th (Friday) the Church in Poland and Polonia around the world celebrates the Solemnity of Our Lady of Częstochowa. Because Our Lady of Częstochowa is the patron of our parish, it is a special day for us. On this occasion, we can obtain a complete plenary indulgence under ordinary conditions, which we can offer for ourserves or for one of the deceased. The conditions on this day are as follows:
¨ visiting the church
¨ prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father
¨ disposal of attachment to any sins: venial and mortal
¨ to receive Holy Communion with a heart free of mortal sin, that is, in a state of sanctifying grace, after confession.
Let us join our prayers to God through the intersession of Our Lady of Czestochowa for our parish community, all our parishioners and friends.
Our schedule will be as follows:
· 3:00 pm. Chaplet of Divine Mercy and Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament,
· 6:20 pm. Benediction
· 6:30 pm Solemn Mass in Polish and English.
Our Homilist in English will be Fr. Jack Lizewski and in Polish Fr. Grzegorz Trąbka.
Special collection on that day will be designated as our support for the construction of the new church and shrine of St. John Paul II in Lublin, Poland, where Fr. Trąbka serves as pastor.
